The exhibition and DVD concept is one which has never existed in this form before: history and stories will be re-interpreted, explained and explored. In conversation with other cultures it will contribute to a new and open perspective on the cultural history of the city. WIENER MOZARTJAHR 2006 looked for partners who could make an artistic contribution along the lines of these considerations. They found them in the curatorial team and they deserve special thanks here. Verborgene Geschichte/n – remapping Mozart is one of the most important undertakings of the year both organisationally and in regard to content.

If, with Mozart's help, one wants to see 2006 as a year of stimulating music and culture then it is only consistent and inevitable that one also has to engage with this previously little known part of the history of the city.
